Special Interest Groups

NPRIE has 4 Special Interest Groups which meet regularly and contribute to the development of the NPRIE annual plan. The groups are:

  • Information and Library Management Group
This group is concerned with management of information, knowledge and library services. The group has also advised on issues such as intellectual property rights, freedom of information and data protection. The group produces the glossary of Acronyms and Abbreviations and the Probation Thesaurus; maintains the Probation Gateway and keeps a bibliographic record of research reports produced by probation areas (the National Research Collection).
  • Research Officers' Group
This group is composed of people working within, or in collaboration with, the National Probation Service who undertake one, some, or all of the following activities on any aspect of probation practice: Research, Evaluation, Performance Management and Monitoring.
  • Communications Officers Group
The aim of the NPRIE COG network is to provide an informal discussion forum that encourages open discussion and exchange of opinion.
  • Performance Information Group
This group is to provide assurance, advice and support to NPS Information and Performance Management staff and to provide a "critical friend" to the NOMS Performance Management Unit.

For more information about the above groups, please see their web page by clicking the relevant link above. Alternatively, Contact Us.
